Welcome Kuzco to Yorkie Haven! He is a joyful, well-behaved, and affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets.
Recently, we discovered that Kuzco has Central Diabetes Insipidus, a condition where the hypothalamus doesn’t produce enough ADH. This causes him to drink a lot of water and urinate frequently—sometimes even while standing, which can lead to incontinence if not managed properly. They’ve tried medication for this condition, but it only provided temporary relief, and his electrolyte levels are off balance. We’re now consulting an internal medicine specialist to determine the best course of action.
In addition, Kuzco is on a low-sodium diet to help manage his condition. He also has a healed leg injury from puppyhood—his previous family had surgery to repair a broken leg, but the hardware moved as he grew. He tends to keep that leg elevated, and his other hind leg shows signs of discomfort. They’re working with a veterinarian to explore options for relief.
Despite these health challenges, Kuzco is an incredibly loving and happy boy. He loves kisses, enjoys going outside, and adores cuddling in bed or on the couch. When left alone, his foster family puts a belly band on him for added peace of mind.
Kuzco’s sweet nature shines through, and he’s looking forward to finding his forever family!
