Pop Pooches: Singers and Their Dogs

The music gurus and love for pooches form a pair of accessory realities that coexist in the most endearing way imaginable. If there’s a pop star, there will be affection toward the four-legged best friend of humans. Nobody can deny the love musicians have for their canine companions because it’s a fact of life. If you meet a naysayer, tell them to just enter the words singers and their puppies into any search engine and then rest easy knowing that they’ll be bombarded with ample pictures of canines tethering their pop parents.

Now that we have briefly touched upon the connection between dogs and singers, let’s take a more in-depth look because you know as well as we do that we have barely scratched the surface of the matter. For a closer look, we must give you a rundown of our exhaustive pop pets’ directory. So, here are the top pop stars and their beloved pups.

Ariana Grande

Let’s start with the peppy ‘Bang Bang’ singer, Ariana Grande. Ari holds the first place on our list for a reason-not that it’s a competition. But her seemingly boundless love for dogs needs to be highlighted before anyone else’s.

The ‘Rain on Me’ soloist owns eleven dogs, which she loves equally. Nobody can say that Ari loves one furry friend more than others. She adores all her babies with the same burning intensity that is reflected through her Instagram account.

Ariana Grande has named all her pups, and can we just say pawdorable!!

Coco, Cinnamon, Straus, Lafayette, Pignoli, Myron, Snape (Hello Harry Porter fan!), lily, and Toulouse, are the monikers that the songstress has given to her fluff buds.

John Legend

Next on our list is jovial John legend.

The ‘Tonight’ singer and his vivacious wife, Chrissy Teigen, are proud parents to not just their two adorable kids but also to four rescue canines. Out of the four dogs, two are Frenchies that the power couple has named Penny and Pippa. Of the remaining two pups, one is the bulldog Puddy, and the other is Petey, a brown poodle.

John and Chrissy love their pooches just as much as they love their kids.

Adele

Adele, the vocalist who had taken the world by her song ‘hello,’ is the mother of a chocolate brown dachshund, Louie. Louie is not just loved by its mum, but also by loyal daydreamers (the epithet given to Adele’s fans).

Usher

Ever since Usher adopted the golden-doodle, Scarlet, he has become one of those fathers who talk about their children incessantly. And the talented megastar is not sorry about it, and he shouldn’t be! Scarlet deserves all the praise and pampering that daddy dearest showers on his little fella.

Britney Spears

The princess of pop is a doting mommy to cute Hannah Spears, who is a fluffy brown Yorkshire terrier. Hannah even has a verified Twitter account where the Britney Army gets to witness all the adventures the little one embarks on.

Lady Gaga

The gutsy mother monster is a French bulldog aficionado. After adopting her first Frenchie, Asia Kinney, Lady Gaga fell irrevocably in love with the breed and brought home three more French bulldogs shortly.

Miley Cyrus

The champion of stirring up controversies, Smiley Miley, is deeply fond of canines. She owns seven dogs named Barbie, Mary Jane, Happy, Bean, Dora, Emu, and Tani.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez, lovingly called Conchita by her fans, doesn’t shy away from expressing love for her six pet dogs. All her canines are rescue pups that the ‘Rare’ songstress has named Willie, Wallace, Fina, Chip, Chazz, Daisy.

Selena Gomez also adopted a husky mix dog with former beau, Justin Bieber, that the couple named Baylor.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry might be a first-time mom to her daughter, daisy. But she has been a mother to canines for a while- a Pomeranian, jiff, and a poodle, Nugget. And now that the ‘California Gurls’ artist is engaged to Hollywood sweetheart Orlando bloom, she shares the custody of the fiancé’s poodle. And the funny thing is that Katy’s poodle and the pirates of the Caribbean star’s poodle resemble one another a lot, which is why many times fans of the power couple struggle to distinguish between the two pups. Isn’t the most heartwarming thing that you’ve ever heard? Our awwww’s wouldn’t stop when we first found out.

Bruno Mars

The energetic singer who enjoys the avalanche of adoration and appreciation that hooligans (Bruno’s fandom name) send his way, loves to pass it on to his Rottweiler, Geronimo. The ‘Please Me’ vocalist doesn’t balk from expressing his feelings for his fur child. Geronimo doesn’t only have an affectionate father but also an equally caring mommy. Bruno’s longtime partner, Jessica Caban, is often seen snuggling and cuddling with beau’s black and brown pup on social media.

Justin Timberlake

All TN kids know that their idol is one of the most thoughtful and kind human beings the world has ever seen, so it’s only natural that he’s gentle toward dogs and owns a trio. Justin Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel are parents to three pooches out of which sassy Tina is the most popular among fans.

Iggy Azalea

The Australian rapper and singer-songwriter, Iggy, is raising a bulldog that she lovingly calls Jelli. Just like their idol, Azaleans are also pretty much head over heels in love with Jelli.

Since our list consists of popstars, we cannot not mention the boy band that is currently reigning over the music industry. Yeah, you guessed it right! BTS or Bangtan Seoyondan, the Korean boy band that is known as the Beatles of the 21st century, has to be mentioned.

BTS

The septet is often seen fawning over a black and tan Pomeranian, Yeontan, who is also dear to the ARMY (BTS’s fandom name). Although Yeontan was initially adopted by one of the group’s vocalists, Taehyung, also known as V, the now three-year-old Pomeranian is loved by all group members. But due to the band’s hectic schedule and frequent travels, Yeontan spends a lot of time with Taehyung’s parents.

We are pretty sure we have missed many musicians, but it’s not humanly possible for us to name all the music industry gurus with dogs in one article. So, for now, revel in knowing about the ones we have mentioned.

Facts About Animal Homelessness:

  1. Only 1 out of every 10 dogs born will find a permanent home.
  2. The main reasons animals are in shelters: owners give them up, or animal control finds them on the street.
  3. Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren’t enough adoptive homes. Act as a publicist for your local shelter so pets can find homes. Sign up for Shelter Pet PR.
  4. Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats.
  5. According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP), less than 2% of cats and only 15 to 20% of dogs are returned to their owners.
  6. 25% of dogs that enter local shelters are purebred.
  7. About twice as many animals enter shelters as strays compared to the number that are relinquished by their owners.
  8. It’s impossible to determine how many stray dogs and cats live in the United States. Estimates for cats alone range up to 70 million.
  9. Only 10% of the animals received by shelters have been spayed or neutered. Overpopulation, due to owners letting their pets accidentally or intentionally reproduce, sees millions of these “excess” animals killed annually.
  10. Many strays are lost pets that were not kept properly indoors or provided with identification.
  11. According to The Humane Society, there are about 3,500 brick-and-mortar animal shelters in the US and 10,000 rescue groups and animal sanctuaries in North America.
