a little about me
2/1/26 - Angel was transitioned to low fat food and has had no further GI issues.
Her eyes have shown some improvement!! Her last check up with the ophthalogist showed that she actually has some tear production in her eyes. Her eye medications are still being given 4 times/day.
She is a sweetheart of a pup!
10/22/25 - UPDATE: Angel is home and feeling better. There are some concerns about her tummy so she will be going back in AM for a brief ultrasound. Will update later tomorrow.
10/21/25 - Angel was taken to Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists NASA yesterday morning due to extreme amount of vomiting and diarrhea. Her blood work was good. Xrays and abdominal ultrasound showed a lot of gas and fluid in her stomach and other areas of her gi tract. They also noted some some type of material that was free floating (no obstruction). It appears that things are either not moving along or moving along slowly. She was admitted and she is being fasted, treated for nausea and vomiting; and, repeat films will be taken later today.
We will know more then and will update.
Thank you for caring ❤
9/13/2025 – Angel is showing some improvement in her eyes. She will have a follow-up with the eye doctor in a couple of weeks. At her last appointment, her veterinarian said she can see a little, but it’s uncertain how much. Despite her limited vision, Angel gets around her foster home very well!
She was spayed yesterday and underwent repair of three hernias. During the surgery, her veterinarian noted that her uterus was very mature and discovered she had previously had a C-section. It seems she was kept for breeding without proper care for her health — a truly disgusting situation. But from now on, she will never have to endure that again. We promise her a wonderful, loving life ahead.
Angel truly lives up to her name — she is the sweetest pup ever! She will have a dental cleaning in about a month.
7/23/25 – Check out her new photo! She’s definitely blossoming. She has an upcoming appointment with the ophthalmologist on 7/27. Her eyes look better in this photo, but that’s because they were just cleaned. She produces no tears, and her eyes frequently get covered with debris.
7/6/2025 – Sweet Angel came to us in very rough condition, but she is a shining example of resilience. With time, she will show everyone how a pup like her can overcome hardships and shine like a diamond! She may seem tough now, but just wait and see — she’s a very sweet girl!
Angel has been in her foster home since Monday, June 30, 2025, and she’s making good progress. Her eyes are a concern — she has severe dry eye (KCS) with corneas covered in hardened debris, and she had an ulcer in one eye. She’s receiving treatment, and her eyes are improving, though we do suspect she may be blind. Her ears were infected, her body was covered in scabs, and she had significant hair loss, likely due to fleas. She also has a mass in her inguinal area, which the vet thinks is a benign fatty lipoma; this will be removed and biopsied during her spay. Additionally, she is anemic, again likely from fleas, and we are awaiting results from her fecal exam. Angel is currently in heat and has probably been bred multiple times in her past.
