Espresso With New Stamps | The US Postal service or USPS has always been known for delivering packages on time. It has a reputation that always gives it an edge over its competition, which it does the most to protect. The USPS has been around for decades now and is a household name. There are times when you might not even be using USPS to have your stuff delivered, but because it is such a common sight, we call other delivery services USPS.
Another household item is coffee. Everyone loves coffee and the many different forms that it comes in. From the bare-bones black coffee to the many different versions you can make or buy, there are a variety of different ways for you to enjoy it. Beyond drinking it, coffee is found in cakes, pastries, ice creams, and toffees. This only shows that the American public and coffee have a bond that has stood the test of time.
The USPS has launched a series of stamps dedicated to this timeless drink to commemorate this special bond. It has helped fuel the American people, and it deserves to be recognized. The most common form of coffee is none other than espresso — a bitter jolt of reality that will immediately wake you up in the morning. Furthermore, espresso has many health benefits that include ridding our body of toxins and being suitable for our heart.
The USPS has released four different versions of the 55-cent postage stamps. These stamps are published in 20-stamp booklets, each containing different espresso-based drinks on them. The four drinks on these stamps are Caffe mocha, caffe latte, cappuccino, and obviously, espresso.
On the stamps, you will find that the designs and artwork draw inspiration from the advertisement posters of the 1920s and ‘30s. According to the USPS, you can see the inspiration from the art deco design language, which was used to help reimagine “the very inviting atmosphere which could be found in a cafe from the 20th century,” according to the USPS.
The artwork on these stamps was designed by the artist Terry Allen. Next, Greg Breeding designed them into stamps and made them into what they are.
We started using espresso machines nearly three-quarters of a century later. However, these stamps are not about reliving the past. Instead, they are focusing on the present day and age.
The USPS claims that espresso consumption has never been higher than it is now. Furthermore, with several artisanal cafes and coffee shops on the rise coupled with new and improved techniques to brew and roast coffee, specialty coffee is at a place where it has never been before.
This development shows that they want to celebrate the American people’s love for coffee by highlighting its importance to their lives.
Treat For Stamp Collectors
The art of stamp collecting is still alive today. Even though we do not send letters as much as we once did, people still collect stamps in the same way.
Philatelists or stamp collectors are expected to collect these stamps to grow their ever-expanding collections. It is worth noting that the last time a coffee-themed postage stamp was back in 2007. At the time, the USPS released a pair of 5-cent stamps with a coffee pot on them. Since then, there have been no coffee-themed stamps, which is strange since Americans are known to drink almost 650 million cups of coffee every day.
Contrary to what most people might know, black coffee or espresso is not served everywhere. For instance, if you go to a cafe or coffee shop in parts of Western Europe and ask for a black coffee, chances are they’ll look at you wondering what you are on about. However, when you visit the north of France, Italy, Portugal, or Great Britain, you will see more people drinking black coffee.
In the US, everyone knows what black coffee is. Furthermore, almost every other person enjoys drinking black coffee or espresso. People will drink it because they enjoy its distinct aroma and the bitter taste. It helps jump-start their brains in the morning and allows them to function correctly. They will also have it during the day to keep them going while benefiting from all the great things that coffee does for your body.
Americans drink both espresso and black coffee. We say both because there is a difference between the two. Black coffee can be made using any blend of coffee and is ground beans with hot water. Espresso is a more bitter form of black coffee made using coffee beans roasted longer than usual. Furthermore, espresso uses less water than black coffee and is also drunk in shots instead of full mugs like black coffee.
Black coffee is what people will drink every morning when they wake up. During the day, they will have a shot of espresso which will keep the caffeine in their body nice and high. This is the ideal method that people should follow. You have enough in the morning to get you going, and then you have a shot that keeps you functional during the day.
However, people will tend to do the opposite and have espresso in the morning followed by a cup of coffee during the day. If someone has a shot of espresso in the morning, you can only imagine that they have made the conscious decision to be different simply. It takes tremendous strength and tolerance to have something so bitter and intense go into your system in the morning. Then again, there is no downside to doing this.
The United States Postal Service and coffee are both parts of American culture. One has been delivering our letters and packages for decades, and the other has been keeping us awake during that time. The USPS has announced a series of stamps that will celebrate our favorite drink as it deserves to be – by issuing beautiful stamps.
